Senior Device Engineer
Dr Horacio I. Cantú obtained his Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from UMIST, Manchester, in 2000. Since then he has worked extensively with high-frequency, electronic devices, wireless systems for communication applications, and microwave photonics techniques, used in radio over fibre networks. His work has included monolithic integration of high speed circuits based on GaAs and hybrid integration of photonic devices based on InP.
In 2011, Horacio received an IET premium award for his work on wireless applications of modulated backscatter.
He joined CST under a UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) in 2013 and he is currently working on design and optimization of high speed, directly modulated lasers.
