CST Global Sub Contract Engineer, Jim Stokes and his wife are shipping essential goods and raising funds for the Emmanuel Favoured Children’s Centre in Kamulu, near Nairobi in Kenya. The Centre houses 60 orphaned children, from 12 months to 18 years old, whose parents have died from HIV / AIDS.
Jim and his wife Nelly, who is Kenyan, have sent 11 boxes containing duvets, pillows, sheets, socks, pants, toiletries and sweets to the centre, via specialist forwarder Kenya Export, based in Luton. The shipment totaled an incredible 412Kgs, so Jim and Nelly drove it to Luton themselves to keep costs to a minimum. They know the forwarder well, having sent goods to Kenya previously, so can vouch for its reliability in getting shipments through.
Jim and Nelly will travel to Nairobi in August to receive the shipment and help ensure it reaches its destination in one piece. They will also make bulk purchases of rice, maize and flour whilst out in Kenya for the children and it is to raise funds for this purchase that Jim has set up a Justgiving page.
Jim hopes to make £500 for the food staples and is well on the way with many donations, including from the team at CST Global.
CST Global is pleased to support Jim and Nelly Stokes in this excellent cause and wishes them both a safe and successful journey to Kenya in August.
