Company Brief

CST Global is an independent manufacturer of III-V photonic devices who provide custom foundry services in InP, GaAs, GaN and GaSb on 2”, 3” and 4” wafers, and have ongoing, active research and development programmes in various technology areas in partnership with private and public bodies.

CST Global also develop and manufacture custom and standard InP laser products for the FTTx (Fibre to the Home / Premises / Building) and PON (Passive Optical Network) markets and are currently in the process of ramping production to >1M devices per month.

CST Global are ISO 9001: 2015 certified and currently employ 65 staff in R&D, wafer fabrication and backend assembly & test at their facility in Hamilton, Glasgow.

Role

  • To support worldwide product sales of the in-house product development programme
  • To develop the current presence in telecoms, defence and consumer segments, and capitalise on emerging opportunities in areas such as remote sensing
  • To maximise the revenue and margin potential of the business
  • To negotiate complex joint-development programmes
  • Major account management with existing customers, developing relationships at strategic/partnership level.
  • Driving foundry manufacturing volumes & custom R&D services
  • Constructing detailed supply agreements
  • Become a major influence at Board level and lead the service growth strategy to penetrate top tier accounts

Responsibilities

  • To build the contractual frameworks for high-value business wins
  • To build and support the global commercial structures around the distributors and agency networks. Selection, second sourcing and distributor management, support and motivation.
  • To build and protect value with strategic partners

Experience

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified with an excellent track record in a directly related, strategic-level sales role in the global semiconductor, photonics or communications sector. The person should have a track record of introducing products or services to a worldwide base of clients, displaying flair, drive and a risk-orientated attitude.
